Over Coffee
My friend S, while describing the new guy she’s fallen for: “you know that feeling, when you’re laying close to a person, and you can faintly feel their heartbeat in their chest, and you realize you’re falling in love, and that you can feel your own heart swell till it burst from your chest, and keeps expanding till it feels like its swallowing the two of you whole?” Me: “…….No” S: “But you know...

Today after class my friend announces that today, after her Platonic logic class, she’s heading out and getting a tattoo. It was something that had been on her mind, sketched in multiple notebooks, but still, Long, boring day? Get a design permanently placed on your body. Why not? Three cheers for impulsive spontaneity. Rebecca Black/"Friday"-5 stages of emotion
1) Annoyance (that people kept sending the link to her song to me or posting it on my FB wall
2) Shock (that a loving God could allow for something so evil and horrible as that song to be recorded)
3) Irritation (That it was stuck in my head all damn week)
4) Shame (That I and the rest of my country were making fun of a 13 year old girl. Child really. She doesn’t know better, right? I...

This story is
1) just plain insane
2) and interesting look at how the internet has turned the masses into citizen detectives
3) food for though on how we measure self worth through anonymous online validation *cough, tumblr follower numbers, cough*
4)really sad
5)really fascinating
Seriously, Peter Coffin sounds above all else like a very depressed individual. This does not excuse his...

I’m excited about this show. The one-two punch of ‘The Tudors’ (which I enjoyed) and ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ (ugh) seemed to coincide with a spike in Tudor interest so perfectly that I have to imagine a link exists. The HBO series ‘Rome’ however failed to raise the same level of excitement over the equally engaging saga of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. ...

To the best of my knowledge I’ve never known a person who has been on a reality show. I’ll take it as a sign that I pick my friends well.

Falling asleep while watching “Inception” during a red-eye to Chicago makes for a strange REM cycle.
